bruiser died this afternoon ...

my dog died this afternoon ... it wasn't unexpected, he was older and hadn't been feeling well ... but it wasn't expected ...

he'd been abused horribly before he came to us ... someone had even cut up his ears ... he never fully recovered from all that, he was nervous sometimes ... but he was just a really nice & loving dog ... i'm always amazed how dogs remain loving even after being treated badly ...

i probably could have done better by him ... i feel like i could have, but i think he knew i loved him ... i hope so ...

xoxo

I'm so sorry to hear about Bruiser. You were both blessed to have had each other, even if it was only a short time. Dogs are very intuitive, he definitely knew that you loved him!

and i am sure he appreciated that you came to his rescue and gave him the security and love for his remaining days...

Oh, I feel your pain. Losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things to deal with. They're like our children, and because they don't speak and are more helpless, sometimes they are even more. I'm sure he knew you loved him, animals have a good sense of that, especially dogs. I am sorry for your great loss, Lisa.

OMG...There are no words. I truly feel for you and Bruiser. My tears flow freely right now for your loss and for all the abuse animals that live thru it. God bless you for giving him his last days with love.
Don't feel guilty...you did your best.
A big hug...

I'm sorry to hear about Bruiser. I have a 7 year old aussie mix that is so sweet and a 4 year old schnoodle named Marcello, and I'll be pretty broken up when that day comes.

Have you ever read, 'I'll Always Love you Alfie.' ?(children's book) The young boy knew that Alfie(the dog) knew he loved him, because he told him so every day. ....

I am so sorry about your loss.
